Jazz Forum Arts Steinway Fund

Steinway has generously loaned Jazz Forum Arts a Steinway B Classic Grand for one year while we raise the funds to purchase the piano for the Jazz Forum.  Your contribution to the Steinway Jazz Forum Arts 88 Keys Campaign ensures that the Jazz Forum will always offer audiences the most brilliant performances on the finest piano.

All pianos have 88 keys.  When you “purchase” one or more keys, your generosity will get us one step (or more) closer to acquiring the world’s most prestigious and elegant piano designed by Steinway & Sons.

About Us

Just last summer, Jazz Forum Arts opened the Jazz Forum, Westchester’s only dedicated Jazz club, presenting world-renowned Jazz artists on Fridays and Saturdays and Brazilian and Jazz groups on Sundays.  The club has presented Roy Hargrove, John Pizzarelli and celebrated pianists including Bill Charlap, Monty Alexander and Barry Harris in an intimate listening room.

Already the alternative to NYC clubs, performing artists have called the Jazz Forum “the best club in the world” moved by its ambiance, audience and “vibe”. The artists have consistently said that the only missing element is a grand piano worthy of the club’s musical excellence.

The Jazz Forum is a program of Jazz Forum Arts, a 33-year-old non-profit arts presenting organization. Free summer outdoor concerts and affordably-priced club shows fulfill the mission: presenting top-quality events to the public at little or no cost while enhancing the appreciation of Jazz, America’s preeminent indigenous musical art form.

Our Goal

Ultimately our goal is to raise the funds to permanently purchase a 7’ Steinway B Classic Grand Piano

Featuring internationally renowned Jazz artists, the Jazz Forum has had a 50-year-old 5’ Steinway “S” — a well-worn house piano from the original NYC Jazz Forum in the early 1980’s.  After all these years of elegant performances by celebrated Jazz artists, the “S” was ready for retirement.

Starting our second year in Tarrytown, the artists and audiences at the club deserve the finest instrument available.  Bill Charlap (Steinway Artist) so loved the club and its potential as a world-class venue that he selected the Steinway 7’ Classic Grand best suited to various Jazz styles. Bill then inaugurated the Steinway “B” piano during his sell-out weekend at the club.

This exquisite instrument will inspire both pianists and other artists with the piano’s capabilities, bring joy to expanding audiences and serve as the centerpiece of special educational programs by acclaimed pianists.
